Your IELTS expires in 2 years — plan backwards from the application, not the exam
Key facts
- TRF validity: 2 years from the test date
- Certificate must be valid on the day you submit — DTM, scholarships, universities all check
- Too early = expires mid-journey; too late = results miss the deadline
- Sweet spot for most plans: 6–12 months before the application window
An IELTS result lives exactly two years. That single fact quietly kills applications in both directions: students who take the exam in school and find it expired by the time they apply abroad, and students who book it two weeks before a deadline and watch the results arrive late.
Plan backwards
- Write down the application window (university, scholarship, or DTM submission — see the DTM rules).
- Subtract result-processing time (1–5 days computer, ~13 paper) plus one retake's worth of margin.
- Check the certificate still covers the entire process — some universities want it valid at enrolment, not just application.
🇺🇿 Qisqacha
IELTS natijasi roppa-rosa 2 yil yashaydi va topshirish kunida amalda bo'lishi shart (DTM ham, grantlar ham tekshiradi). Juda erta topshirsangiz — muddati o'tadi, juda kech — natija yetib kelmaydi. Reja: ariza oynasini yozing → natija chiqish vaqtini (kompyuter 1–5 kun) va bitta retake zaxirasini ayiring → ideal vaqt: arizadan 6–12 oy oldin.
