IELTS Speaking topics rotate in September — use the current bank while it lasts
Key facts
- Speaking topic pool partially refreshes about every 4 months (Jan / May / Sep)
- Exam in August? The current May–August bank still applies
- Exam in October? Expect part of the topics to be new
- Rotation affects Part 1, 2 and 3 topics — not the format
IELTS Speaking works from a topic pool that partially rotates on a roughly four-month rhythm — around January, May and September. Prep centres publish "current topics" lists each cycle; they stay useful until the next swap.
How to use this
- Exam before September: practising the current May–August topic lists is high-value — the pool is stable.
- Exam in autumn: don't memorise answers to specific topics. Build transferable material instead: 8–10 flexible stories (a person, a place, a decision, a difficulty) that adapt to almost any Part 2 card.
- Either way, examiners reward fluency and development, not topic prediction.
🇺🇿 Qisqacha
Speaking mavzular bazasi taxminan har 4 oyda (yanvar / may / sentabr) qisman yangilanadi. Imtihoningiz avgustgacha bo'lsa — hozirgi mavzular ro'yxati ishlaydi. Kuzda bo'lsa — mavzu yodlamang: har qanday Part 2 kartochkaga moslashadigan 8–10 ta universal hikoya tayyorlang.
