The most painful IELTS outcome used to be this: Listening 8.0, Reading 7.5, Speaking 7.0 — Writing 5.5. One weak section, and the only fix was paying full price and sitting all four modules again. One Skill Retake (OSR) ends that: in Uzbekistan you can now rebook just the section that let you down.
How it works
- You must have completed a computer-delivered IELTS test first.
- Within 60 days of that test date, book a retake of a single skill at the same provider (IDP or British Council).
- You get a new Test Report Form combining your three original scores with the new one. The original TRF also stays valid — you choose which one to send.
- You can use One Skill Retake once per original test. If the retake goes worse, you can still use the original TRF.
Before you pay for a retake
OSR costs real money, so treat it like a second final exam, not a lottery ticket. Two weeks of focused practice on your one weak skill changes the outcome far more than "hoping for easier questions". Diagnose exactly where you lose points — question types, timing, or task response — then drill only that.
