Türkiye Bursları — the Turkish government scholarship — is one of the most applied-to programmes among Uzbek students, and it has the least forgiving calendar of them all: one application window per year. In 2026 it ran from 10 January to 20 February. Miss it, and the next chance is twelve months away.
Why it's worth the January sprint
- It's a genuine full package: tuition, dormitory, monthly stipend, health insurance, flight tickets and a one-year Turkish language course.
- Unlike most scholarships, it places you into a university itself — no separate admission hunt.
- Bachelor's, master's and PhD all apply in the same window.
Prepare in autumn, apply in January
- Documents: diploma/transcript (or final-year enrollment proof), passport, recommendation letters — have scans ready by December.
- Letter of intent: the selection weighs your motivation heavily. Draft it early, make it specific to Türkiye and your field.
- Language proof: not strictly required for Turkish-taught programmes (the scholarship includes a Turkish year), but English-taught programmes ask for IELTS/TOEFL — and a strong score strengthens any application.
- Don't submit on deadline day — the portal historically slows under load in the final days. YTB itself recommends applying early.
